Righteous Leaders

Sometimes I look at the current state of this country, and it is very prosperous, and still a great place to live.

However, it seems like every day, more news comes out about corruption, or people fighting and not finding ways to work together. This is no more apparent than in the government. If everyone could find a way to work together, so much more could be accomplished.

I think about what it would be like to have a government led by righteous men and women. It certainly worked in the days of the reign of the judges, when the chief judge was being righteous.

"Behold, it came to pass that the son of Nephihah was appointed to fill the judgment-seat, in the stead of his father; yea, he was appointed chief judge and governor over the people, with an oath and sacred ordinance to judge righteously, and to keep the peace and the freedom of the people, and to grant unto them their sacred privileges to worship the Lord their God, yea, to support and maintain the cause of God all his days, and to bring the wicked to justice according to their crime." (Alma 50:39)

I think this would be awesome. I do get tired of hearing about corruption, wickedness, and dishonesty all around us. It would be nice if those leaders of the government were more likely to champion the cause of righteousness instead. I think it would make a huge difference in our country, and other countries around the world.
